For the casting, Aluminium and Zamak ingots are used, exclusively purchased from leading companies in the sector, ensuring a consistent quality product through time.

The normally used aluminium alloys (UNI EN AB-46100 and UNI EN AB-47100), are melted down using two Striko Westofen basin blast furnaces. These furnaces allow the ingots to be melted while maintaining their original quality and at the same time obtaining castings free of impurities and hard points.

The other alloys, depending on customer requirements, are cast in specific tipping blast furnaces. Before use, the aluminium undergoes deslagging and degassing treatment

The most used zinc alloys are:

  • Zamak15 (ZnAl4Cu1), used in both hot-chamber as well as cold-chamber presses.
  • Zamak27 (SiZin27 a zinc alloy with 27% of aluminium), used only in cold-chamber presses.
